Kishin Kitarinu - Amano Yoshitaka
A 1980s Amano masterpiece reborn in 62 cm of resin — Kishin Kitarinu.
Adapted from Yoshitaka Amano's celebrated 1980s artwork, the Kishin Kitarinu Elite statue reimagines the half-human, half-beast war god in stunning three-dimensional form.

Bringing Kishin to life meant honoring the details that make Amano-sensei's work instantly recognizable, and few challenges were greater than the cape. Large and sweeping, it drapes across the shoulder with dynamic movement, yet had to hold a firm, sculptural structure without losing the illusion of weightlessness. To capture the layered, semi-transparent washes of color that define Amano-sensei's technique, the team turned to translucent resin, achieving a glow that shifts and catches light the way the original brushstrokes once did on paper.
We wanted to capture the soft features yet calm, composed expression that grounds Kishin's otherwise dreamlike, otherworldly presence. The result is a solitary and magnificent moment, frozen forever in a state of ethereal grace.
Perhaps the most demanding task of all was the cape itself: hundreds of tiny golden spheres, hand-set into housing holes of varying diameters across the blue fabric, each one placed with painstaking precision to recreate the shimmer of Amano's original palette.

From canvas to sculpt — Kishin Kitarinu, brought back to life and adorned with brilliant beauty.
